The job role holder is responsible for Managing the driver training function for commercial heavy vehicles (mainly trucks), light vehicles and construction plants and equipment.
Responsibilities
Developing a driver training strategy for the driving academy
Implementing the training strategy end-to-end
Developing a driver and plant operator training curriculum and course content
Developing and maintaining custom tailored training packages for various operations. E.g., Abnormal load operations, Bullet proof vehicle operations, convoy driving operations, earthworks operations etc.
Oversee and manage the operations of Regional Driver Training facilities.
Ensure that appointed regional driving instructors perform driver training to the agreed standards.
Maintain a database of driver records.
Develop and implement a comprehensive points-based drivers’ bonus system.
Develop and implement a driver classification system.
Ensure that the driving academy complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
Preparing of regular reports on the performance of regional driving instructors, participant progress, and overall school operations.
Requirements
B.sc in Management sciences or related field, FRSC certification, Driving school certification, Valid driver’s license with minimum 3 renewals.
Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience as a driving instructor of vehicles and equipment with 3 years at a similar role in a model organization
