Design, develop and implement in an innovative way the Peace and Human Rights programme in Nigeria, with a focus on an ongoing mediation process.
Identifying and autonomously managing transformative initiatives and processes, particularly in the area of mediation, dialogue promotion and violence prevention, and, including impact assessment and portfolio adaptation.
Create and develop a broad network (government, security sector, local actors, civil society, international community, representatives of armed groups, etc. Work effectively with all key partners in the field. To encourage dialogue activities and confidence building measures in a politically sensitive environment.
To deduce concrete peace policy measures on the basis of context monitoring and political analysis.
Accompany and direct the/the person in charge(e) of national program(e).
Your profile
University degree, training in mediation is an asset. Several years of professional experience in the field of conflict transformation, peace promotion, DDR and/or diplomacy, including, preferably in the context of changes related to conflicts or a difficult security situation.
Pronounced political sense and assurance. Innovation spirit.
Experience in political dialogue or facilitation of mediation and/or dialogue processes is an asset.
Communication and empathy skills, as well as the ability to present oneself in an intercultural context depending on the situation.
Confirmed analytical skills, combined with writing skills.
High degree of resilience and ability to manage stress situations in an autonomous manner.
Very good knowledge of two official languages and fluency in English.
Swiss citizenship (applications from persons with dual nationality with the country of assignment will not be considered). Valid driving licence.
