Job Description

• To be fully familiar with rules, regulations, and work procedures applicable to the task to be executed.


• To execute assigned tasks in conformance with safe work procedures in accordance with instructions given by the supervising officer


• To ensure that work such as entry into enclosed spaces, and hot work is not undertaken without permission from the responsible officer.


• To train all his subordinates in the various tasks as required through close supervision of each individual performance.


• To produce correct markings, cut, grind, and fit pipes, plates, etc.


• To be able to carry out required calculations.


• To adhere to all safety, quality, and schedule requirements of fitting work.


• To keep all his tools, workshop equipment, stores, etc in good order and to maintain stock records and advise on stock orders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates should possess an OND qualification


• Mechanical Fitter apprenticeship or equivalent training scheme,


• 5 years of experience as a Fitter


• Holds a class-approved welder’s certificate.
