Duties

• Monitor and address any behavioural or social issues among the students.


• Wake students up at the stipulated time, ensure the students take their bath, clean up and lay their beds properly, and get ready for school.


• Provide emotional support and counselling when needed.


• Inspect students before they go to school.


• Assist in providing a friendly, caring, and safe environment for students.


• Daily inspection of dormitories to make sure they are neat and well kept.


• Ensure that all appointments, accidents, and disciplinary matters are recorded.


• Inspection of lockers and bags for contraband in the hostel


• Ensure the students participate in all indoor and outdoor activities required.


• Continuously check during the night to make certain the students are asleep in safe positions.


• Enforce the siesta and make certain that sleeping conditions are good.


• Monitor the children during sporting activities.


• Supervision of prep activities.

Requirement:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.


• Minimum of 2 years of work experience as a Hostel Parent.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• A good understanding of the schooling system


• Active listening skills.


• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.


• Detail-oriented with excellent time-management skills.


• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well and respond patiently and effectively to the requests of students, parents, and staff


• Professional, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and flexible.
