Job Purpose

• Ensure that the quality of the concrete and casting is up to the required standards by testing it on a regular basis.


• You will create concrete mixes compliant with regulations and customer demands and then check quality of concrete produced by the Batching Plant in relation to the mix designs.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Checking and approval of all materials delivered to the batching plant and to site including sand, granite and cement.


• Run a laboratory test on new material brought such as sieve analysis, cube test, slump test, cement quality, etc.


• Testing and analyzing samples of slump and cube from each mixer at the batching plant on a daily basis.


• Liaise with Site Manager and do sample testing of slump and cubes mixed at sites.


• Analyze results and communicate to the Batching Plant Manager and the Site Managers.


• Record keeping of sample testing results and writing reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.


• Regular calibration to test that the batching plant scale is correct.


• Perform cube crushing every 7, 14 and 28 days and keep record and send reports to all concerns.


• Monitor the chemical additive to batch taking haulage into consideration.


• Perform trial mix when there is a change of material


• Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time

Qualification

• Interested candidates should possess an HND / BSc / B.Tech / B.Eng in Building Technology, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline

Experience:

• 5-7 Years’ experience as Lab Technician of Batching plant or Concrete Laboratory.
