Job Description
- The Maintenance Technician, is responsible for the upkeep and repair of an organization's facilities, equipment, and systems. They play a vital role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of the physical assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure proper functionality and safety.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues, identify problems, and develop effective solutions for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Preventive Maintenance: Implement and maintain a preventive maintenance program to reduce unexpected breakdowns and prolong the lifespan of assets.
- Equipment Inspection: Regularly inspect machinery, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and other equipment to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history for reporting and analysis.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and standards to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Supplier Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and equipment servicing.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Asset Uptime: Maintain a high percentage of asset uptime, minimizing equipment downtime and production interruptions.
- Response Time: Ensure quick response times for resolving maintenance requests and issues.
- Cost Management: Manage maintenance budgets effectively, minimizing unnecessary expenditures.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities meet safety and compliance standards, with zero reported safety incidents.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in maintenance, repair, or a related role.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of maintenance best practices, including preventive maintenance techniques.
- Understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
- Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment.
- Physical stamina for tasks that may involve lifting and prolonged periods of standing or bending.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
