Job Summary
The Accounts Officer shall carry out market surveys; analyze financial information, purchases and preparing financial reports, keeping assets record and reconciling budget and expenses within the organization.
Job Description
- Reconciliations, ensuring Statement and Balances tally with records in Accounting System.
- Responsible for bookkeeping and Journal Postings on Accounting System.
- Preparation of weekly and monthly Management Cost and Revenue Report.
- Ensuring that general ledger accounts are reconciled with resolution to reconciling items.
- Participation in month end close activities including the preparation of journal entries and budget-to-actual reports.
- Maintaining accounts receivables files and records
- Preparation of Account records
- Placing and releasing payment holds
- Investigating and facilitating refunds to buyers
- Investigating and facilitating chargebacks due to buyers
- Preparation of Daily financial report
- Preparation of Weekly financial report
- Preparation of Monthly financial report
- Preparation or remittances to statutory bodies
- Providing support for financial resolutions for merchants and buyers
- Providing Support to Merchants for Financial Solution product
- Assist with processing of WHT, VAT and other tax payments for the business.
- Assist with general financial management and analysis, yearly Audit preparation and duties as assigned.
- Provides input and suggestions to management for improvement of job processes and efficiency
Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ working experience as an Accountant
- A First Degree in Accounting, and/or Finance or (certification in corporate Finance)
- A Postgraduate or master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage
- Membership of ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or CFA is compulsory
- Has worked in organization with processes and procedures and is conversant with working within approved standards and policies.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Proficiency in the use of SAGE 50, Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Tools.
- Knowledge in research, data gathering and numerical analysis.
- Demonstrates knowledge in Financial Analysis, Interpretation, and Reporting.
- Experience with Accounting Reporting Softwares (i.e. SAGE).
- Self-Driven Individual with the ability to deliver tasks with minimal supervision.
- Time management skill
- Ability to work well with a team
- Knowledge in research, data gathering and numerical analysis
