Job Description
Job Purpose: -
Objective of the position is to manage the entire gamut of HR and IR activities related to the plant to ensure its smooth functioning.
Key Accountabilities: -
- Employee Relations – Maintain a very cordial relationship with all the employees and unions. Guide the relationship through resolving issues by focusing on solutions.
- Network with other units in the area to always keep an eye on happenings that could have an impact on this unit.
- Manage the expectations of the staff - Be assertive and at the same time be empathetic to the issues faced/raised by workmen. Should have the ability to work with management on resolving genuine issues raised by workmen in a timely manner.
- Time Office and Payroll – Manage entire time office function and provide timely input for payroll processing. Manage the Time attendance machines and software and ensure their functioning daily.
- Partner with shop floor managers to manage absenteeism and take up corrective measures. Bring in proactive methods to improve attendance and eliminate production loss on account of manpower.
- Statutory Compliance and Govt Officials relations – Manage entire statutory compliance applicable to the unit and ensure there is no exposure to the organization due to noncompliance. Advise the management on issues related to compliance and suggest viable remedial measures. Maintain cordial relationships with all Government officials and key stakeholders.
- Welfare Measures – Manage entire administration of all welfare measures being run in the facility like canteen, insurance, various celebrations, service awards (longevity awards) etc. Suggest and implement improvements that are employee friendly.
- Administration - Manage areas like Plant hygiene, good housekeeping and all office supplies.
- Provide guidance to the business managers on HR policies, ensuring the right interpretation of the policies are applied in managing human resources in the directorate and lead on the development and implementation of new HR policies
- Engage Line Managers and Training Specialists on training needs identification and gaps based on perceived business imperatives, development of core curriculum content, and ensure the successful implementation of training plan for the employees
- Oversee the annual implementation and report on entire Performance Management process, results, and ratings.
- Contribute to the headcount budget process of assigned directorate to ensure optimal staffing.
Qualifications
- First degree in Social, Human and or behavioral Sciences or any other related discipline
- At least 10 – 12 years. work experience in a similar role with a large organization
- Exposure to handling central unions
- Excellent and demonstrable negotiation / organization skills
- Excellent Microsoft Suite Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power-point
