Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian law, client and corporate policies and regulations.
- Liaise with the home office’s Operations teams to manage and troubleshoot project managerial issues as they arise.
- Ensure Nigeria-based team is in compliance with local labor laws, Company policies and code of conduct, and client requirements.
- Implement applicable company policies and procedures to recruit Nigeria-based staff.
- Ensure timely submission of timesheets, leave, and necessary approvals. Track used and accrued leave days.
- Supervise and ensure work conditions are in conformity with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Assist with qualitative performance appraisal and professional development processes.
- Maintain records of performance development trackers and activities.
- Conduct procurements in compliance with government, client and corporate procurement policies and procedures, ensuring fair and open competition and proper documentation, and manage contracts and vendor agreements as required.
- Monitor and manage business travel for staff including review and processing of relevant travel authorizations, advance requests, expense reports, and logistical arrangements.
- Ensure travelers follow applicable travel policies. Track and reconcile advances with expense reports.
- Manage office space including processing of agreements for office space leases, utilities, and services.
- Oversee inventory management of office equipment and supplies, including updated asset register, and required insurance and maintenance.
- All other duties deemed necessary by the Program
Required Qualifications:
- A relevant Bachelor's degree and Master's degree are required;
- A minimum of 7 years relevant work experience;
- A minimum of 3 years project management experience with DFID, DFAT, USAID or other donor client(s)
- Experience managing large and complex projects with a high risk profile;
- A minimum of 2 years of people management experience, including setting performance objectives, managing for results, giving and receiving feedback, performance evaluation and mentoring and coaching;
- A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a developing country or similar environment.
Project Management expertise;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Financial acumen and the ability to interpret and analyze financial reports;
- Sound problem solving and decision making skills;
- Strong management skills with ability to mentor, coach, lead, develop and evaluate staff;
- Ability to work with a low level of supervision and as a part of a team when required;
- Demonstrated critical thinking, attention to detail, and organizational skills;
- Demonstrated leadership skills including a high level of professional maturity is required.
