Role Outline
- The Tax Accountant will form part of the finance team and specifically reports to the Head, Finance. This role is typically broken down into either Compliance (ensuring the business complies with all tax legislation) and/or Advisory (where the business is advised how to best structure for taxation purposes).
- The Tax Accountant would be responsible for ensuring the business meets its tax liabilities in accordance with regulatory requirements in one hand, and create tax planning arrangements for effeciency on the other.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Management of Direct (such as Corporate Income Tax) and all Indirect (such as Payroll Tax) tax matters for the organisation
- Preparing paperwork for tax payments and returns
- Ensure the company’s Executive team is aware of Tax exposure and impact from Asset disposals/structural business changes/Mergers and acquisitions etc.
- Recommending tax strategies that align with business goals
- Preparation and lodgement of tax returns
- Providing tax advice to Management on all taxation matters such as research and development tax breaks etc.
- Organising and updating the company's tax database
- Reviewing, updating and improving tax related systems
- Identifying areas to reduce tax exposure
- Keep up to date with changes to the taxation legislations
- Liaising with Tax Authorities - FIRS, LIRS, Tax Consultants, Auditors and regulatory bodies when required
- Forecasting tax predictions, understanding financial landscape and market trends Job Requirements & Skills

- A university degree in mathematics, economics, accounting, business, law, or relevant degree
- Profesional Certifications such as ACA, CITN, ACCA
- Minimum of 5-year experience in taxation practice, preferably in Big 4 accounting firms or in an independent taxation role. Tax Accountant
