Job objectives:


Our client is a prominent provider of maritime security solutions, specializing in guarding both vessels and cargo. As part of our client growth strategy, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to help us expand our presence in the maritime industry


Principal Duties / Responsibilities


Market Research and Opportunity Identification:



  • Conduct comprehensive research to identify new markets and customer needs within the maritime industry.

  • Identify viable business opportunities and coordinate business generation activities.

  • Develop customized, targeted sales strategies to expand our reach in the industry.


Client Engagement and Development:



  • Arrange business development meetings with prospective clients.

  • Understand clients' capacity development needs and provide tailored solutions and support.

  • Address potential client inquiries and conduct effective follow-up communications.

  • Develop winning proposals, negotiate contract terms, and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.


Relationship Management:



  • Manage relationships with training partners and other key individuals in the marine industry.

  • Maintain and expand a prospective client database.

  • Build and sustain long-term relationships with new and existing customers.


Sales and Performance Targets:



  • Meet and exceed all quotas for cold, active, and inactive calls, appointments, and interviews.

  • Collaborate with management to set sales goals, plan, and forecast.

  • Develop and maintain short- and long-term business development plans.


Market Analysis and Compliance:



  • Conduct quarterly competitive market research and monitor current market conditions.

  • Ensure compliance with contracting schemes for both supply vessels and personnel carriers.


Commercial Strategy:




  • Develop and implement the commercial strategy for the Maritime Industry Business Unit.




Job Requirements


To be successful in the role, the candidates should meet the following requirements:



  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or a related field. 

  • Extensive experience as a sales expert, particularly in complex sales and marketing.

  • Proficiency in drafting, deciphering, and negotiating business or product offerings.

  • Comprehensive understanding of contemporary business and market trends.

  • Good understanding of maritime and cargo business operations.

  • Self-driven, goal-oriented, and an effective communicator with attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to apply critical thinking to analyze issues.
