Job Summary:



  • The HSE Supervisor will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs and initiatives to ensure a safe and compliant working environment within Nigerian Foundries Limited.

  • This position plays a critical role in promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization.


Key Responsibilities:


Safety and Environmental Compliance:



  •  Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.

  •  Develop, update, and implement HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  •  Conduct regular safety and environmental audits and inspections.


Incident Prevention and Response:



  •  Proactively identify and address potential safety and environmental hazards.

  •  Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective action plans to prevent their recurrence.

  •  Coordinate emergency response plans and drills.


Training and Education:



  •  Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees, contractors, and visitors.

  •  Promote awareness of safe work practices and environmental stewardship.

  •  Maintain records of training and compliance activities.


Risk Assessment and Mitigation:



  •  Conduct risk assessments to identify potential workplace hazards.

  •  Collaborate with department heads to implement measures for risk reduction.

  •  Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies.


Waste Management and Environmental Impact:



  •  Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

  •  Monitor and reduce the environmental impact of operations.

  •  Implement strategies to minimize waste and promote recycling.


Safety Reporting and Documentation:



  •  Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and compliance activities.

  •  Prepare and submit safety and environmental reports to regulatory agencies as required.


HSE Committee Participation:



  • Collaborate with the HSE committee to drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.

  •  Engage with employees and management to gather input on HSE issues and initiatives.


Qualifications:



  • A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., environmental science, occupational health and safety).

  • Relevant certifications in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, ISO 14001).

  • Proven experience in HSE management, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial setting.

  • Knowledge of local, national, and international safety and environmental regulations.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Familiarity with risk assessment and management tools.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering industry.
