The role holder is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and recommending emerging commodity-linked financial products on the Exchange, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, market demand, and regulatory standards.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have to demonstrate innovative skills, analytical competence, as well as have a deep interest and understanding of the capital markets and the investment landscape, both domestic and foreign.
Responsibilities
Conduct detailed research to identify emerging trends, products, and opportunities within the capital market.
Analyze the viability, profitability, and risk associated with emerging commodity-linked financial instruments or market strategies.
Evaluate the potential of emerging capital market products through qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Compare and contrast emerging products with existing products in terms of performance, risks, and market reception.
Stay updated on regulatory changes and guidelines in the capital market.
Ensure that emerging products or strategies align with local, national, and international regulatory requirements.
Prepare detailed reports on potential market opportunities and emerging products, highlighting benefits, risks, and recommendations.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of research data, analyses, and evaluations.
Work closely with the product development Lead to refine and enhance new product ideas based on findings.
Engage with all relevant stakeholders, including traders, portfolio managers, and external partners to gather insights and feedback on product endeavours.
Attend seminars, workshops, and conferences to stay updated on the latest trends and products in the capital market.
Maintain detailed documentation of product specifications, operational processes, and guidelines.
Support in developing product marketing materials and training resources.
Track and evaluate the performance of launched products, using metrics to identify areas for improvement or modification.
Other duties
Participate in ad-hoc projects and perform other activities as may be assigned.
Embark on trips within and outside Nigeria where necessary.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related fields.
Experience in capital markets, research, or a related discipline.
Proficient understanding of financial instruments, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
Expertise in data analysis tools and financial modelling software.
A proactive approach to research and a keen interest in financial market innovations.
Sufficient understanding of emerging products including Derivatives, Energy, Solid minerals, precious metals, etc.
Prior experience in product development, capital markets, or a related area.
Ability to adapt to fast-paced, changing market conditions.
