Assists Pharmacist in monitoring medication therapy by:



  • Restocking emergency crash cart boxes as necessary within scope of practice.

  • Evaluating and monitoring the use of drug delivery systems for medication errors.

  • Monitoring safe storage of drugs and biological.

  • Be available for medical questions (formulary, cost, Medicare, etc.) from customers if Pharmacist is unavailable.

  • Keeps schedule medication inventory up to date and accurate.

  • Ensures dependable attendance and punctuality.

  • Maintains medication prices daily.

  • Checks in order and stocks shelves.

  • Assists with performing an annual inventory.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.

  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information and participating in team problem-solving methods.

  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with established policies and procedures.

  • Participates in department meetings as required

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned/necessary.


Requirements



  • Qualified candidates will possess current licensure as a Registered Nurse, demonstrates extensive knowledge of pharmaceuticals.


Other requirements include:



  • Demonstrates proven verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and understand to patients, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of Performance Improvement, Medication Use Programs, pharmacy computer systems, and inventory management.

  • Demonstrates competency with age groups served by the pharmacy.

  • Proven track record in reliability and dependability.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

  • Demonstrates effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with providers, patients, and team members.

  • Demonstrates friendly, personal, and timely customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to function independently without supervision while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail and carry out procedures in an ever-changing environment.

  • Proven track record in effectively planning, organizing and attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain a positive, courteous demeanor with all patients and colleagues.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of all internal and external communications to speak, read, write, and understand English.

  • Candidates with prior pharmacy experience.
