The Cost and Inventory Accountant utilizes an understanding of the manufacturing accounting process to provide financial support to the company through cost analysis and monthly reporting.
Responsibilities
Analyze actual costs and compare to standards
Develop and maintain standard costs
Perform analysis of variances and communicate issues and opportunities to management
Manage day to day activities related to the cost system
Perform month end closing activities and reports on a timely basis
Handle inventory accounting, reporting and reconciliations
Help conduct physical inventory
Help with standard cost rolls annually
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar field
2 years’ experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment preferred
Strong understanding of accounting principles
Proficiency with computer software (Excel and Word)
Excellent organizational, analytical and communications skills
