Job Summary
The Senior PMO Technical Officer is the custodian of PMO systems, processes, tools, techniques, templates, and reports and will act as the risk management custodian and the interface between the PMO and the rest of the Projects Organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management tools and processes; risk management; exceptional communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills; and the ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Resident Risk Management Custodian for the PMO
- Identify and develop project management methodologies, techniques, good practices, and standards.
- Track compliance with standards, policies, procedures, and project management forms through project audits.
- Develop and manage on behalf of the project organization, policies, procedures, templates, and other shared Organizational Process Assets
- Manage interdependencies and shared resources between all projects.
- Ensure and coordinate communication between projects.
- Supervise compliance with organizational processes.
- Collate lessons learned and practices-worth-replicating and make these available for other projects.
- Coordinate PMO’s efforts and provide focused communication on projects.
- Prepare status reports for upper management on the progress of projects and highlighting any potential issues that may arise.
- Assess and coordinate coaching, consulting, training, and supervision needs for the Project Management Teams.
Requirements
- Minimum B.Sc. degree in a relevant Engineering or Sciences Discipline
- MBA /Masters in relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
- PMP / PRINCE II certification or other project management qualifications
- SAP – Project Systems.
- Agile or SCRUM certification
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience as a Project Lead, Project Manager or Risk manager or in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of project/risk management standards, techniques, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in risk management software such as EasyRisk or equivalent
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and multi-tasking skills
- Solid knowledge of engineering disciplines, construction methods, and industry-specific cost factors.
