Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance.
- Responding to breakdowns/preventive maintenance promptly.
- Diagnosing faults and proffering solutions.
- Oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time.
- Supervising engineers and technical staff.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Conduct follow-ups on all repair works.
- Supervise, mentor and train team members.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications and providing technical expertise to the team.
- Conduct safety inspections as scheduled.
- Maintaining statistical records and report writing.
- Creating maintenance procedures/work scope.
- Managing stocks of tools and equipment/budgeting.
- Manage the team to ensure availability and unit sustainability.
- Provide technical expertise to the team.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis and resolve problems.
- Carry out any other job as may be assigned to you.
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Mechanical or Production Engineering
- Postgraduate/relevant professional qualification
- Minimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience with at least three (3) years supervisory role
Skills and Competencies
- Experience and working exposure to maintenance of steam turbines and auxiliaries
- In-depth understanding of Steam Turbine Operations
- Good knowledge and usage of turbine equipment/auxiliaries’ tools.
- Sound technical troubleshooting skills
- Appreciable knowledge of QHSE and conformance requirements
- Knowledge of standard operating procedures with respect to maintenance of turbine and auxiliaries
- Sound knowledge of power generation processes
- Knowledge of modern maintenance management practices
- Effective communication and Reporting Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
