Perform racking, stacking, cabling, and decommissioning of Data Center Hardware devices.
Perform break-fix support (e.g. power cycles, physical environment, and cabling inspections, swap out failed components, hardware upgrades, testing of copper and fibre cables, handling storage media etc.).
Able to install components to server and networking devices such as memory, SSDs, CPU, expansion cards, modules and so forth.
Perform cross-connect patching and labelling per standard methodologies.
Handle tickets for local support and implementation purposes and perform tasks as detailed in MOP.
Maintains inventory, labelling of equipment and removal of decommissioned hardware.
Maintains an adequate spare parts inventory of systems, subsystems, and component parts used in repair work.
Knowledge of assembling, deploying, and solving Network and Server hardware

You will bring
Minimum of B.Sc/HND or equivalent experience in Computer Engineering or related.
Creative problem-solving skills: you will be expected to come up with solutions to problems at hand, opposed to waiting for orders
Experience working in a modern, large-scale data centre
Strong documentation and logistics mentality
Attention to detail, cleanliness and an appreciation for simplicity
Ability to read and interpret cable matrix to correctly lace cables port to port.
Ability to identify basic parts of network equipment – SFPs, line cards, chassis
Ability to identify basic parts of servers – memory, network card, hard drives
Knowledge of structured cabling systems using cat 5, cat 6, multi-mode and single-mode fiber
Familiarity with both power and communications cabling standards
Experience configuring and using cable testers for both fiber and copper to solve cabling issues
