Brief Description



  • The primary role of FSO Deck Foreman is to coordinate FSO Deck Operations for safe, optimum, efficient, and incident-free operations. This includes completing routine operator intervention, and overall continuous liaison with the FSO Cargo Supervisor.

  • Additionally, the Deck Foreman coordinates and maintains an overview of all operations on the vessel deck and machinery space safely and effectively. The Operations Foreman has the authority to delegate certain tasks to the Operation Assistants/ Mooring Technician as appropriate to their experience and competencies. He remains responsible for the delegated tasks. He may act as instructed on behalf of the Cargo Supervisor for deck operational tasks.

  • Key duties include:

  • Supervise/provide oversight to Operation assistants in carrying out deck maintenance, rigging, slinging, lifting and export related operations, including material and personnel transfer to/from Offshore Support Vessel. (OSV). Also responsible for carrying out Signal Man duties for Crane Operations.

  • Maintains inventory of all loose lifting gears and issues for use to the Facility personnel in accordance with the job scope under the PTW System. Maintains the rigging equipment register as part of the rigging loft.

  • Assists in planning and execution of all aspects of cargo operation on deck i.e. assisting in loading/discharging of LPG including safety watch keeping on deck during offloading operations, deploying and recovery of export hose, deploying and recovery mooring hawser, cargo sampling and the associated maintenance of cargo equipment.

  • Liaises with the Cargo Supervisor and coordinates the deck crew in the following:

  • Corrosion control including needle gunning, chipping with hand tools, painting etc.

  • Tank operations including tank entry, cleaning, removal of scale, valves, pipework etc.


Minimum Academic Requirements



  • Able Seaman or Equivalent.


Minimum Experience Requirements



  • Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years experience on large oil/gas production facilities offshore and onshore or preferably ships.

  • Candidate Should have the skills necessary to perform the following roles.

  • Helideck Fireman

  • Certified Gas Tester

  • Class ‘A’ Crane Operator and Signal Man

  • Life-Saving Appliances and Fire Fighting Appliances inspection and maintenance (Including Lifeboat Inspection and Maintenance)

  • Rescue Team Leader
