Brief Description



  • The primary role of FSO Field Operator is to operate and act as an area responsibility / authority for designated Process Operation and Utility systems and ensure that the systems are operated efficiently and safely. This includes completing routine operator interventions, routine patrols (ORD) and overall continuous monitoring of parameters in coordination with other Operating personnel and the Control Centre. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the processes and equipment.

  • Responsible for carrying out process isolations. Ensures accurate and comprehensive running machinery log is maintained. Member of the FSO Emergency response team and ensures that he understands his responsibilities under the Emergency Response plan, especially when on duty during nightshift.

  • Responsible for startup, Operate, Monitor, Maintain and Shut Down Refrigeration and Liquefaction Systems and Utilities. Troubleshoot to resolve defects to ensure plant availability. Manage the liquid-free, inerting and aeration of the tanks and associated pipe work in order that the facility can be presented to the maintenance, construction or repair group or facility in a safe and acceptable condition in collaboration with the Cargo Supervisor


Minimum Academic Requirements



  • Certification as a Ship’s Marine Engineer with relevant hydrocarbons experience preferably some time spent on a trading Gas Tankers.

  • MCA Engine Officer Certificate of Competency, or equivalent

  • Experience in oil/ gas tanker cargo and ballast operations, control of ESD and Fire and Gas systems and initiation of Emergency Response procedures.

  • Experience in Floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels would be advantageous

  • Petrochemical experience, demonstrate a Mechanical aptitude and have the ability to compile Technical Reports with associated Drawings as required, pertaining to Plant/Systems Operations

  • Training in Emergency Command and Control, supervisory experience and Oil and Gas production knowledge is desirable


Minimum Experience Requirements:



  • Personnel should have minimum 5-years experience on large oil/gas production facilities offshore or Oil / Gas Tankers.
