Job Summary
Successful candidate shall be a critical part of the Company. The Candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of finance and accounting. The financial controller will overseas all functions of an organization’s finance and accounting department.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation, reporting, filing and management of all financial statements
- Oversee the accounting, filing and payment of all statutory liabilities accurately and within the stipulated timelines
- Ensure proper application of accounting standards in managing and recording financial transactions
- Create and generate timely month end and annual reports to communicate the financial performance trends, and forecasts
- Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded, filed, and reported
- Prepare and deliver the budget and financial plans on time and manage expenditure within the approved limits
- Perform data migration and effectively use accounting software to analyze, report and manage financial information
- Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to identify and implement approved cost reduction opportunities
- Assist the Management and Board in developing and implementing a risk management process
- Ensure effective cost control and cost management processes are implemented, tracked, and reported
- Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Coordinating audit processes
Educational Qualification and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or equivalent from a reputable higher institution
- MBA or master’s degree is an added advantage
- Accounting Professional Certification is an added advantage
- 4+ years finance and accounting experience, preferably in the financial sector
- A minimum of 1 years at managerial level
- Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals, standards, and principles
- Demonstratable experience with accounting tools/software
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and auditing skills
