Position Purpose 

The Data Insight Analyst will be responsible for analyzing data using statistical techniques, implementing, and maintaining databases, gathering data from primary and secondary sources, identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends from the data to drive decision making. This role is only suitable for candidates who have Financial Services experience. 

Principal responsibilities and accountabilities 

• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports


• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality


• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems


• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets


• Filter and “clean” data by reviewing reports, and performance indicators to locate and correct problems


• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities


• Develop reports and analysis; also, onboard end-users on how to use new report templates and dashboards.


• Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization.


• Use statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and prediction.


• Analyze local, national, and global trends that impact both the organization and the industry.


• Prepare management reports stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.


• Analyze data in support of business cases and proposed projects by departmental managers.


• Identify and interpret patterns and trends, assess data quality, and eliminate irrelevant data.


• Communicate the results of the analysis as a comprehensive report to decision makers and others affected by the results.


• Any other duties and responsibilities which may be required to meet company objectives

Qualifications 

• A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or related field


• Knowledge and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SPSS, Microsoft PowerPoint etc.)


• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
