Role Overview
- The Safety and Security Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organization's safety and security programs to ensure the protection of personnel, assets, and information. Safety protocols will be established following consultation with the ESG Manager.
- This role requires strategic thinking, leadership, and a proactive approach to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Assessment and Management:
- Conduct regular risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.
- KPI: Reduction in the number and severity of identified risks.
Policy Development and Compliance:
- Develop, update, and communicate safety and security policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and industry standards.
- KPI: Completion of policy updates and adherence to compliance standards.
Emergency Response Planning:
- Develop and maintain emergency response and crisis management plans.
- Conduct regular drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of plans.
- KPI: Successful completion of planned drills and exercises.
Physical Security Measures:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of physical security measures.
- Monitor access control systems, surveillance systems, and perimeter security.
- KPI: Maintenance of effective physical security systems.
Incident Investigations:
- Conduct or oversee investigations into security incidents, breaches, or violations.
- Ensure timely and thorough reporting on investigation outcomes.
- KPI: Timely resolution and documentation of security incidents.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and manage the security team, providing guidance and training.
- Monitor team performance and address training needs.
- KPI: Team performance evaluations and professional development metrics.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the safety and security budget.
- Allocate resources effectively to address priorities.
- KPI: Adherence to budgetary constraints and efficient resource utilization.
Compliance Monitoring:
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations related to safety and security.
- Conduct regular compliance audits.
- KPI: Successful completion of compliance audits.
Communication and Training:
- Communicate safety and security information to employees and stakeholders.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance awareness and preparedness.
- KPI: Completion of scheduled training sessions and improvement in awareness metrics.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
- At least 15 years’ Experience
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPP) may be preferred.
- Extensive experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
