Job Description



Our Client in the Engineering Industry requires a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team.


Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer.


Location: Owo, Ondo State.


Responsibilities




  • Designing mechanical equipment using Autocad as well as computing the associated Bill of Materials.




  • Reviewing and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports.




  • Researching, designing, evaluating, installing, operating, and maintaining equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements while applying knowledge of engineering principles.




  • Conducting research that tests and analyses the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems.




  • Recommending design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.




  • Developing test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.




  • Estimating costs for submission of bids for engineering related projects.




  • Ensuring strict adherence to high standard operating procedures, testing and placing orders for equipment outsourcing and change in design.




  • Ensuring strong Engineering processes and controls such as Document Control, Document Management and Document Archiving.




  • Assisting the General Manager in overseeing daily business operations of the Design Office & Fabrication Division.




  • Developing and implementing growth strategies to improve revenue.




  • Generating new clients, new project orders and sales.




  • Engaging with and building relationships with new and existing clients with the aim of growing the business.




  • Assisting the General Manager with allocation, budgeting, resource planning, and scheduling.




  • Assisting the General Manager with managing unit and development cost estimations and helping to determine affordable and reliable material sources.




  • Assisting the General Manager with maintaining engineering budgets and ensuring adherence to the budget by driving value engineering initiatives to reduce project cost and innovative construction methodologies to improve productivity.




  • Assisting the General Manager with the review of workforce capacity gaps within the Engineering team and ensuring timely recruitment in alignment with Corporate HR policies.




  • Assisting the General Manager with the supervision of team members to create an energetic and positive work environment.




  • Ensuring continuous Training & Development of staff.




  • Evaluating performance and productivity.




  • Generating reports and giving presentations as needed.




Requirements




  • First Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 8-10 years’ relevant work experience.




  • Knowledge of Auto-Card and design techniques is necessary.




  • Membership of NSE will be an added advantage.




  • Excellent Communication Skills.




  • Attention to detail.
