Job Summary


Trade operations provides support to validate and coordinate import/export transactional requirements, ensures pre-transaction regulatory requirements are fulfilled, using a deep knowledge, and understanding of global trade compliance operations practices and procedures.


Responsibilities


The ideal Candidate will (but not limited to) carry out the following function:



  • Filing of NXP's and keeping record of unrepatriated NXP's.

  • Identifying risks (both financial and technology), addressing and/or escalating accordingly

  • Strategy – Providing thought leadership to execute on and grow the control and quality management strategy.

  • Track receivables of the company

  • Consignee Invoicing.

  • Filing of Shipping Documents.

  • Insurance management; Keep schedule of insurance of products shipped by the firm

  • Act as a focal point of contact for customers and other stakeholders for any requests and enquiries for solid minerals

  • Ensure that shipment request by consignees is processed and carried out in compliance to specifications.

  • Create and maintain analytical reports for profitability on product lines.

  • Build strong relationships with the internal units, hubs and collaborate on great service delivery and client experience to consignees.

  • Dispatch Physical Bill of Lading and other export documents to Consignee

  • Nominate Inspection Company for Weighing, Sampling and Moisture Determination (WSMD) Operations of products.

  • Raise all FX transfer instructions to the bank.

  • Effective and prompt response to all inquiries by consignees

  • Examine export documents ensuring accuracy and that they are presented in a timely manner to the consignees.

  • Escalate potential revenue inflow issues or unusual transactions to bank to ensure prompt receipt of receivables.

  • Oversight function on Weighing Sampling and Moisture Determination operations by third party inspection agency.

  • Maintain Product profitability sheets for all products being shipped by the firm.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's and University Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting.

  • Professional Membership (with a Chartered Institute) in field of study e.g; ICAN, ANAN, and ACCA.

  • Membership of relevant professional bodies such as ITOPS- International Trade Operations and Procedures and Supply Chain Management. (will be an added advantage).


Required Competence:



  • Three (3) or more years of prior experience in Trade Operations

  • Must be able to work early schedule at times.

  • Ability to demonstrate Technical Leadership

  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of complete and accurate cycle of import & export transactions.

  • Have first hand experience in International Client Management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be good in Accounting with good MS Office 365 productivity apps

  • Excellent communication skills (Written and Oral).

  • Availability to travel upto 10% per Quarter.
