Job purpose


The Intern, Human Resource will assist with People and Culture Operations. The internship provides hands-on experience in various people and culture functions, with a focus on ensuring the completion of employee documentation, HR administration, and compliance with relevant Evidence Action and labor practices. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and have a strong determination to contribute to the excellence of HR service delivery.  


Duties and responsibilities



  • Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and scheduling interviews.

  • Support the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.

  • Participate in employee engagement activities, including organizing team-building events and recognition programs.

  • Assist in handling employee inquiries and escalating issues as appropriate.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.

  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate training programs and initiatives.

  • Help track employee training and development activities.

  • Support the timesheet process during payroll for temporary hires and review staff timesheets for accuracy and completeness.

  • Assist with tracking progress of people and culture annual priorities.

  • Provide general and clerical support to the People and Culture department and other duties as required.


Requirements



  • A minimum of HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Administration or Social Sciences.

  • One (1) Year or less Post-NYSC experience working in the human resources department of an organization.

  • A demonstrated ability to process information into action in a timely manner.

  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to use the following Microsoft Productivity tools: PowerPoint, Excel and Word.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Professional certification in Human Resources

  • Familiarity with HR information databases and searchable resources.

  • International Development experience (Experience working for a non-profit)


Working conditions


The intern will be expected to work 40 hours a week.
