Job Description



  • We are seeking an experienced and detail-orientated Import Operations Manager to join our team.

  • As an Import Operations Manager, you will oversee and manage the company's end-to-end import operations, including coordinating with all the relevant stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulations, and optimizing our supply chain efficiency.

  • The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in international trade and logistics and have exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.


Responsibilities



  • Oversee and manage the entire import operations, including communicating with all the relevant stakeholders.

  • Process all necessary regulatory permits and licenses, including NAFDAC Import Permits, SON Import Permits, NCS Fast Track Permits, Price Verification Reports, Form Ms, and Pre-Arrival Assessment Reports.

  • Apply for and manage Letters of Credits, as required.

  • Review and verify all import related documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, customs declarations, customs duties, and import licenses, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely arrivals.

  • Coordinate with shipping lines and terminals to ensure accurate and timely invoicing and receipting.

  • Collaborate with clearing agents to facilitate efficient customs clearance and resolve any customs-related issues or delays.

  • Plan and coordinate the transportation and movement of goods and resolve any logistics issues.

  • Prepare Exchange Control Documents for each shipment.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations, trade laws, and import requirements.

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with import operations, including customs duties, taxes, and currency fluctuations.

  • Stay updated on changes in import regulations and communicate these changes to relevant team members.


Requirements / Competencies



  • A Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory.

  • Proven work experience as an Import Operations Manager, or in a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations and import laws.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and relevant stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent negotiation skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
