Responsibilities


Patient Care:



  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.

  • Administer medications, treatments, and other prescribed interventions.

  • Monitor and record patient vital signs and medical information.


Collaboration and Communication:



  • Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support.


Documentation:



  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, and progress notes.

  • Ensure compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements.


Patient Advocacy:



  • Advocate for patients' rights and preferences in the delivery of healthcare.

  • Address patient concerns and collaborate with the healthcare team to resolve issues.


Education and Training:



  • Provide patient and family education on healthcare conditions, treatments, and preventive care.

  • Participate in staff development and training programs.


Quality Improvement:



  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in performance improvement activities.

  • Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.


Administrative Duties:



  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal requirements.

  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure adequate stock levels.

  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements and pharmacy policies and procedures.

  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency of pharmacy operations.


Requirements



  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.

  • Registered Nurse with a valid nursing license in Abuja.

  • Minimum of 2 years in clinical nursing experience, with a focus on injections administration, and health screening.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with pharmacy management software and electronic health records.

  • Previous experience in a retail pharmacy or healthcare setting is an added advantage.
