Responsibilities
Patient Care:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
- Administer medications, treatments, and other prescribed interventions.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and medical information.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, and progress notes.
- Ensure compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
Patient Advocacy:
- Advocate for patients' rights and preferences in the delivery of healthcare.
- Address patient concerns and collaborate with the healthcare team to resolve issues.
Education and Training:
- Provide patient and family education on healthcare conditions, treatments, and preventive care.
- Participate in staff development and training programs.
Quality Improvement:
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in performance improvement activities.
- Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal requirements.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure adequate stock levels.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements and pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency of pharmacy operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Registered Nurse with a valid nursing license in Abuja.
- Minimum of 2 years in clinical nursing experience, with a focus on injections administration, and health screening.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software and electronic health records.
- Previous experience in a retail pharmacy or healthcare setting is an added advantage.
