Job Summary  



  • The Program manager would be responsible for providing strategic direction to the organisation in the development of program strategy, supporting business development activities as well as managing program activities with program teams.

  • The individual must be a business professional and would be responsible for planning and designing programs.


Job Description


Program Strategy:



  • Organize programs and activities in alignment with the mission and goals of the company.

  • Initiate new programs to support the strategic direction of the company.

  • Develop strategic and advisory document capturing program activities and achievements projecting the organisation as a thought-leader in the industry.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define program objectives, timelines, and achievement.

  • Develop budget and operating plan for successful implementation of program. Develop risk assessment techniques and risk mitigating strategies to ensure the attainment of program objectives.

  • Develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.


Program Management:



  • Define the governance arrangement for programs in the company

  • Ensure effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the programs - focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the programs, and outwardly on coherence with infrastructure planning, interfaces with other programs and corporate, technical and specialist standards

  • Provide program updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress

  • Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure program goals are achieved.

  • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.


Business Development:



  • Research and identify mission-aligned grant funding opportunities to develop new and sustain existing programs.

  • Monitor professional journals, follows digital media, and attends relevant workshops and conferences to stay abreast of best practices in program fields for development purposes.

  • •Write high-quality grant applications and guide the timely submission of grant proposals ensuring adherence to application guidelines, working with program teams.

  • Develop literary write-ups demonstrating the company’s program research and findings for peer and non-peer publication.

  • Develop strategic relationship and partnership with key stakeholders at State, National and International Level.


Reporting:



  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual and other program report.

  • Ensure that financial reports are prepared and documented in time aligning with program design and donor requirement.

  • Capacity Building

  • Provide tailored program management awareness and training opportunities org-wide, using a variety of methods to drive proficiency in program management.

  • Work collaboratively with project teams to share knowledge and good practice. Undertake other reasonable duties related to the job purpose as required.


Educational/Professional Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree from a reputable institution.

  • A Master's or higher degree would be an added advantage.


Skills and Knowledge:



  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience.

  • Proven experience in program/project management.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.

  • Proven experience managing a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook etc.).

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).

  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.

  • Excellent technical writing skills

  • Strong business acumen

  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
