Job Description/Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer the network infrastructure, ensuring connectivity, security, and optimal performance.


• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems, including servers, workstations, and peripherals.


• Implement and manage security measures to safeguard the institute's IT infrastructure, including firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls.


• Develop and execute data backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical information and ensure business continuity.


• Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and offering solutions in a timely manner.


• Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with security standards and efficient use of technology resources.


• Collaborate with external vendors for procurement, maintenance, and support of IT systems and services.


• Conduct training sessions for staff on IT systems, software applications, and security best practices.


• Stay informed about advancements in information technology and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the institute's IT capabilities.


• Work closely with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide tailored solutions to support their objectives.

Job Requirements

• Proficient in various operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and networking.


• Experience in configuring, managing, and maintaining servers, networks, and other IT systems.


• Ability to identify and resolve technical issues promptly and efficiently.


• Familiarity with IT security practices, including implementing and maintaining security measures for systems and networks.


• Experience in designing and implementing data backup and recovery strategies.


• Ability to manage and maintain hardware components and software applications.


• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools to streamline processes.


• Experience in managing IT projects, including planning, execution, and documentation.


• Effective communication skills to interact with team members, end-users, and management.


• Ability to adapt to new technologies, updates, and emerging trends in the IT field.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and address complex IT issues.


• Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, is an advantage.
