Job Summary
- The Research and Development Assistant is responsible for supporting and assisting the organization in
- identifying and pursuing funding opportunities through tenders and grants.
- This role involves understanding donor and stakeholder engagement frameworks, conducting research, writing reports and concept notes, generating leads for international development, contributing to proposal development, and assisting with program design and partnership management.
Responsibilities
Grant and Tender Research
- Conduct research to identify relevant funding opportunities, including grants, tenders, RFQ, ITT,
- RFP, EOI, RFI, and Studies.
- Monitor various sources for funding announcements and opportunities.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of potential funding sources and deadlines.
Donor and Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop an understanding of the organization's donor and stakeholder engagement framework.
- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with potential donors and stakeholders.
- Participate in meetings, conferences, and events to network and engage with donors and stakeholders.
- Report and Concept Note Writing
- Assist in the preparation of high-quality reports, concept notes, and project summaries for submission to donors and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure that reports are accurate and meet the required guidelines.
Lead Generation
- Identify potential partners and funding opportunities through research and networking.
- Develop strategies for lead generation, including utilizing online resources and social media platforms.
Proposal Development
- Collaborate with the proposal development team to contribute to the creation of compelling grant proposals.
- Assist in compiling necessary documents and information for proposal submissions.
Program Design
- Contribute to the development of program concepts and designs.
- Assist in aligning program designs with the organization's mission and the requirements of potential donors.
Partnership Management
- Assist in identifying and establishing partnerships with other organizations and stakeholders.
- Work with the partnership team to maintain and nurture existing partnerships.
Requirements/Qualifications
- PhD or MSc. with distinction in relevant field of study (e.g. International Development, Non-Profit Management, Business)
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of grant and proposal writing.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and relevant research tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of International Development principles and practices is a plus.
