Responsibilities

Materials Planning and Procurement:

• Collaborate with relevant departments to determine material requirements and maintain an accurate inventory.


• Create and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials.


• Monitor and analyze material consumption patterns to anticipate future needs and prevent shortages.

Logistics Management:

• Coordinate the transportation and delivery of materials and products to ensure on-time arrivals.


• Optimize shipping routes and modes of transportation to minimize costs and environmental impact.


• Manage relationships with logistics providers, negotiating contracts and rates when necessary.

Inventory Control:

• Implement and maintain efficient inventory control systems to track stock levels and prevent overstock or stockouts.


• Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and address discrepancies promptly.


• Collaborate with finance and other relevant departments to manage the financial aspects of inventory control.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Prepare and maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory levels.


• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to the transportation and storage of materials.


• Handle import and export documentation, including customs clearance processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with production, purchasing, and other departments to understand their material needs and address any supply chain challenges.


• Communicate effectively with team members to provide updates on material and logistics status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.


• Proven experience in materials and logistics coordination, preferably in a manufacturing or similar industry.


• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and logistics best practices.


• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.


• Proficient in using relevant software and tools for inventory management and logistics coordination.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
