Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Rigging Operations:
- Perform rigging activities including attaching loads to cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment.
- Inspect and select appropriate rigging gear based on load weight, size, and shape.
- Ensure proper weight distribution and balance of loads during lifting operations.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations during rigging activities.
- Conduct pre-use inspections on rigging equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a safe working environment.
Communication:
- Coordinate with crane operators, signalers, and other team members to execute lifting operations safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding rigging plans and requirements.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on rigging equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
- Identify and report any defects or malfunctions in rigging gear.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of rigging activities, including load weights, equipment used, and any incidents.
- Complete required paperwork and reports related to rigging operations.
Qualifications
- Relevant certifications in rigging and lifting operations.
- Proven experience as a Rigger in construction or industrial settings.
- Knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Familiarity with different types of rigging gear and their applications.
- Ability to interpret and follow rigging plans and lift drawings.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions.
Certifications:
- Rigging certification or relevant training.
- Crane signaling certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces
