Job Summary
- The Pharmacy Technician maintains pharmacy inventory by tracking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipts and removing outdated drugs.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Process prescriptions, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all information.
- Ensure medication availability by disbursing and ensuring the coordinated delivery of medications to patients/customers.
- Manage the pharmacy inventory, anticipating needed medications and supplies in line with Just-In-Time Inventory management practices (JIT)
- Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Educational Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates should possess an OND in Pharmacy or Pharmacology.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in community pharmacy
- Completion of a pharmacy technician certification program or equivalent work experience.
Required Skills /Abilities:
- Conversant with code of ethics of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria
- Knowledge of pharmacy terminologies, calculations, and procedures.
- A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude that requires minimal supervision
- Fluent English with excellent writing, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills
- Works effectively as a team member and promotes collaboration
- Appreciation for the importance of Pharmacovigilance compliance in pharma industry
- Multi-tasker and have the ability to work under pressure with little supervision.
- Computer literate.
