Job Description



Job Objectives



  • The role is responsible for performing specialized accounting work to maintain various applicable ledger.

  • To direct and coordinate the daily activities of the accounting staff to quickly and accurately record the fund flow, revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities of the company.

  • The incumbent is also responsible for preparing financial statements and coordinating the audits.


Job Responsibilities



  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

  • Duties include the following, measurable in terms of time, cost, quality or quantity.

  • Strategic Responsibility - To oversee the accounting control and reporting and also the audit functions of the Finance & Logistics (Inventory) department of the company to ensure that the proper financial metrics are in place..

  • Day to Day-to-day management - To perform financial accounting, consolidation, reviews and financial reporting (MIS) and manage financial transactions like Bank reconciliation and payroll.

  • To oversee the accounting control and reporting and also the audit functions of the Finance & Logistics (Inventory) department of the company to ensure that the proper financial metrics are in place.

  • To supervise, direct and organize the work of accounting staff (including, but not limited to, cash reconciliation, account reconciliation, check runs, accounts receivable transactions, fixed asset activity, payroll, accounts payable transactions, debt activity, recording of payments, expenses, revenues and liabilities etc.)

  • To Prepare commercial contracts, negotiate and manage the finalization of contracts including the Export & Import Documentation.

  • Accounting Target - To prepare and submit to Management Monthly, Quarterly, Half-Yearly and annual periodic financial statements and reports, as well on an ad-hoc basis.

  • Budget - To prepare and recommend a financial budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget and keep Management informed to ensure business alignment.

  • People Management - Manages to effective communication by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, providing of formal and informal feedback on performance and training needs - in order to maximize subordinate and department performance.

  • Reporting - To prepare all applicable reports in time for accuracy and in order to ensure that they match the functional requirements, policies and standards.

  • Related Assignment - To perform other related duties or assignments as and when assigned.


Job Requirements 



  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with minimum experience of 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing Industry,

  • Well-exposed to Accounting Procedures and Methods and must have exposure in leading a team of 8-10 people.

  • Well-versed with SAP / ERP Accounting Package.

  • As per the need of the business, the job is transferrable and posting can be made anywhere in Nigeria/West Africa.
