Job Profile:


The Deputy Programme Director will support the Programme Director in overseeing and managing the GC7 project. He/she will assist in strategic planning, operational management, budget monitoring and ensuring the effective implementation of Programme activities.


Key Responsibilities: 


The successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions:


Strategic Planning:



  • Collaborate with the Programme Director in developing and implementing strategic plans for the Programme.

  • Contribute to the identification of Programme goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).


Operational Management:



  • Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure the smooth functioning of the Programme.

  • Coordinate with different teams to ensure alignment with Programme objectives and timelines.

  • Monitor progress against set targets and intervene when necessary to address any deviations.


Team Leadership and Support:



  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to ensure their productivity and effectiveness.

  • Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations of Programme staff.


Stakeholder Engagement:



  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, partners, and donors.

  • Represent the Programme in meetings, conferences, and other relevant events.


Financial Oversight:



  • Assist in budget planning and monitoring expenditure to ensure efficient resource utilization.

  • Work with the finance department to track spending and report financial progress.


Reporting:



  • The Deputy Programme Director will provide regular updates, reports, and recommendations to the Programme Director. He/she will collaborate closely with other department heads and report on Programme progress to senior management as required.


Qualifications/Experience:



  • Advanced degree in relevant social science field like business management, Economics, International Development, etc.

  • PRINCE2 or PMP Certification is an added advantage.

  • 15 years of experience in Programme management, in an NGO setting


Skills and competencies: 



  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Other Requirements:



  • Willingness to travel occasionally, as needed.

  •  Adherence to the organization’s code of conduct and values
