Responsibilities

• Identify diseases and causes for concern and mitigate those risks immediately


• Ensuring feeds are appropriately serve to the birds


• Recommend and administer vaccines/medication to the birds


• Manage staff in order to enhance farm performance and cost effectiveness


• Oversee operation of commercial layers farm operations as Officer


• Ensuring bio-security, health and safety, environment and animal welfare procedures are adhered to all times.


• Resolving staff conflicts and disagreements


• Ensure that daily, weekly and monthly records are well kept and submitted


• Preparation of stocking calendar in consultation with COO


• Ensure that the farm meets the production targets.


• Ensure hygienic environment


• Other assigned duties.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of HND or B. Sc in Animal Science or Animal Production and Health or any related course from accredited Polytechnic or University with at least (3) years Cognate experience in an Agro-allied industry. Professional qualification is an added advantage.


• Candidate must not be older than Thirty (30) years


• Male preferably

Required Skills:

• Keen interest and knowledge of poultry farming;


• Computer Competencies (Excel and Microsoft office);


• Be able to write reports and maintain accurate records;


• Good interpersonal relationship skills;


• Ability to deal effectively with difficult people and situations;


• Must be assertive, focused and confident;


• Must possess a sense of urgency and a need to accomplish task at hand;


• Strong oral and written communication skills;


• Good team player.
