Job Summary



  • The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality physics education, inspiring students' curiosity, and fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.

  • The Physics Teacher will contribute to the overall academic success and personal development of our students.


Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement a challenging and comprehensive physics curriculum in accordance with national and school standards.

  • Create lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.

  • Deliver engaging and interactive physics lessons, incorporating innovative teaching methods and technology.

  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.

  • Administer a variety of formative and summative assessments to gauge student progress.

  • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and collaborate with colleagues to address individual learning needs.

  • Oversee and organize laboratory activities, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for practical experiments.

  • Demonstrate and guide students in proper laboratory techniques and safety protocols.

  • Actively participate in and support extracurricular activities related to physics, such as science clubs, competitions, and educational outings.

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in physics education, teaching methodologies, and technology through continuous professional development.

  • Attend faculty meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and contribute to the school's academic community.

  • Establish effective communication with parents to provide updates on student progress, share insights into the curriculum, and address any concerns promptly and professionally.

  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, department heads, and school leadership to contribute to the overall success and development of the school.


Qualifications



  • A Degree in Physics or a related field; a postgraduate degree and teaching qualification (PGDE or equivalent) is desirable.

  • Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) or equivalent certification.

  • 8+ years relevant work experience.

  • Proven experience teaching physics at the secondary level.

  • Strong knowledge of the British National Curriculum for Physics.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
