Working with the Team Leader/Highway Engineer to prepare an assessment of the road safety aspects of all parts of the highway design manual – roads, bridges, tunnels, etc.; draft the Volume covering road safety aspects of the proposed highway design manual.
Propose the minimum requirements for a standard road safety audit report setting out amendments that must be made to the designs to bring them into compliance with acceptable international standards.
Ensure that all required road safety facilities and features have been incorporated in the final draft of the manual.
Requirements
Master’s degree in civil / Highways Engineering or Transport Economics.
General experience in road safety assessments and audits of major highway projects.
Must have been involved in two (2) road safety assessments and audits of major highway projects in the last ten (10) years.
Must have been involved in two (2) road safety assessment and audits projects financed by the EU, World Bank, AfDB or other similar international funding agencies in sub-Saharan Africa
