Job Summary

• To undertake appropriate due deligence of the tunnel aspects of the propsed highway design manual

Responsibilities

• Define minimum geotechnical and other investigations for prescription in the manual


• Proposing amendments to the propsed design options to reflect improved sustainability, safety and other aspects; draft the volume covering tunnel construction of the proposed highway design manual.


• Review as part of the due deligence provisions in existing tunnel design manuals, provisions for lighting, ventilation, fire, communications, drainage and emergency response systems, and propose amendments as appropriate


• propose standard specifications for the tunnel aspects of the manual.

Requirements

• Minimum of Master's Degree in Civil Engineering


• General experience in the design and construction of tunnels for highways and other transport infraustructure.


• Must have been involved in the design and construction of tunnels for two (2) highways and other transport infraustructure in the last ten (10) years.
