Veegil is seeking a mid-level UI/UX Designer for our Design and Media team. We are looking for a dynamic UI/UX Designer who will be responsible for the mobile and other non-web apps, user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of our various digital assets.
You will ensure that all elements of the online user experience are optimized for improved usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the best online user experience, which makes your role extremely important for our success and ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
You will be designing graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, forms, widgets, creative solutions to app development, UI/UX design problems by staying up to date with best practices and emerging trends in mobile technology, user experience design and user interface technology.
As part of a small team, you would share your creativity, expertise and innovation, and have a hand in the decisions that affect the direction and performance of the entire company.
You will be faced with a series of problem-solving situations on a daily basis that requires team coordination, risk/crisis management and out-of-the-box thinking. In our efforts to become a more seamlessly web-integrated company, we are looking for top-notch designers to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Conduct competitive analyses of other websites that operate in the same space
Investigating user experience design requirements for our suite of digital assets
Prepare customer analyses based on our target demographic and initial transactions
Providing advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities in order to analyze and predict user behaviour
Participate in creating the content development strategy- developing stories and experiences to drive user engagement
Developing and conceptualizing a comprehensive UI/UX design strategy for the brand.
Coordinate with the UI design team on issues like navigation, page routing, product page design and more
Track usability goals and prepare reports for management
Develop mockups for our development and design team
Producing high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes
Conduct usability tests on each independent type of page on the website and create a report showcasing your findings
Designing UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets for our digital assets
Testing UI elements such as CTAs, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages
Test for intuition and experience
Optimize existing user interface designs
Develop technical and business requirements and always strive to deliver intuitive and user-centred solutions
Communicate with clients to understand their business goals and objectives
Implementing designs using Front end web development tools like HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Adhering to style standards on typography and graphic design
Add-on skills such as graphics design, video designs and animation, content development, audio production etc
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree or HND in Computer Science or other related field required
Experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role for digital products or services
Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: Sketch, InVision, Visio, HTML, CSS (SCSS), iOS, Android, and Design Systems
Superior knowledge of all Adobe products, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and Dreamweaver
Advanced understanding of the C2C marketplace and the functions of auction and e-commerce websites
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to discuss and explain design options
Experience preparing detailed competitive and consumer analyses
Some knowledge of Usability Factors in Human-Computer Interaction.
Detail-oriented, Critical thinker, Problem solver and customer-centred
A portfolio of professional UI/UX design work for both web and mobile platforms. Share the link to a portfolio within the job application. GitHub or Gitlab preferred.
