Position Overview



  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Expert to join our team. The MEL Expert will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing the monitoring and evaluation framework for our projects and programs.

  • This position is crucial in ensuring that our organization learns from its activities, continually improves, and achieves its objectives.


Key Responsibilities

MEL Framework Development:



  • Lead the design and development of comprehensive monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks for projects and programs.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define clear and measurable objectives and outcomes.


Data Collection and Analysis:



  • Develop data collection tools and methodologies to gather relevant information and data.

  • Analyze data to assess the effectiveness and impact of projects, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.


Evaluation and Reporting:



  • Plan and conduct evaluations, including baseline, mid-term, and end-of-project assessments.

  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on evaluation findings, offering actionable recommendations.


Learning and Knowledge Sharing:



  • Promote a culture of learning within the organization, facilitating the sharing of best practices and lessons learned.

  • Organize and lead learning events, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions.


Capacity Building:



  • Provide training and capacity-building support to staff and partners on MEL methodologies and practices.

  • Ensure that project teams understand and adhere to MEL requirements.


Continuous Improvement:



  • Continuously refine and improve the MEL framework, tools, and processes based on feedback and results.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in monitoring, evaluation, and learning.


Qualifications and Skills



  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Social Sciences, International Development).

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems for complex projects or programs.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data collection and analysis tools and software.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings in a clear and accessible manner.

  • Familiarity with a variety of MEL methodologies and approaches.

  • Experience in designing and conducting surveys, assessments, and evaluations.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
