Job Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement strategic procurement policies in alignment with company objectives.

  • Execute supply chain strategies to optimize overall operations efficiency.

  • Oversee day-to-day procurement operations, ensuring the timely availability of critical raw materials, packaging, engineering, and consumables at competitive prices.

  • Maintain accurate records of key suppliers, including updated contact details.

  • Establish and manage a comprehensive database of reliable sources for materials at competitive prices.

  • Conduct periodic market surveys for price benchmarking and effective negotiation.

  • Collaborate with planners, marketing, and product development teams to facilitate smooth product launches.

  • Stay informed about products under development to anticipate raw material needs.

  • Develop contract documents for strategic procurement services.

  • Obtain stock replenishment advice, place advertisements, and analyze quotations following category policies.

  • Negotiate favorable credit terms for raw materials, packaging, and engineering items.

  • Recommend penalties for defaulting suppliers to maintain compliance and accountability.

  • Manage the sourcing and importation of materials, coordinating with regulatory officers.

  • Generate management data to provide insights into procurement, stocks, and distribution management.

  • Propose and implement cost-saving initiatives while building credibility, gaining suppliers' respect, and promoting procurement influence through establishing lasting relationships. Additionally, play a key role in leading cross-functional procurement teams, providing coaching, and conducting on-the-job training for subordinates. Execute any additional tasks assigned by the supply chain director.


Job Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Economics, Business Administration, or Social Sciences.

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, preferably in the pharmaceutical or food industry.

  • Impressionable and dynamic with excellent human relations skills.

  • Proficient in the Procurement Module of Business ERP.

  • Computer literate with expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Analytical, proactive, result-oriented, and able to work independently or in a team.

  • Registration with professional bodies like the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply is an added advantage.
