Job Description



Responsibilities:



  • The Volunteer Lead will assist the Grassroot and Volunteer Coordinator in the following areas; 


Volunteer Recruitment:



  • Develop and implement strategies to attract new volunteers, ensuring a diverse and engaged volunteer base. 

  • Collaborate with other teams to understand volunteer needs for various programs and initiatives. 


Onboarding and Training:



  • Design and conduct volunteer orientations to familiarize new volunteers with the organization's mission, values, and procedures. 

  • Coordinate training sessions to equip volunteers with the skills and knowledge required for their roles. 


Placement and Scheduling:



  • Match volunteers with suitable roles based on their skills, interests, and availability. 

  • Create and maintain a volunteer schedule, ensuring adequate coverage for events and ongoing projects. 


Communication and Engagement:



  • Maintain open and regular communication with volunteers through newsletters, emails, and social media platforms. 

  • Organize volunteer appreciation and recognition programs. 


Conflict Resolution:



  • Address and resolve volunteer-related issues promptly and professionally. 

  • Provide guidance and support to volunteers to ensure a positive experience. 


Data Management:



  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer information, hours, and activities. 

  • Generate reports on volunteer engagement and impact for organizational review. 


Collaboration with Other Departments:



  • Work closely with line managers and coordinators to align volunteer efforts with organizational objectives. 

  • Foster a collaborative environment that values the contributions of volunteers. 


Qualifications:



  • Previous experience in volunteer management or related roles. 

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. 

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 

  • Ability to motivate and inspire volunteers. 

  • Proficient in using volunteer management software and Microsoft Office Suite
