JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client, a reputable firm in the recycling sector, is currently seeking an experienced Operations/Business Supervisor to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a background in operations supervision, preferably in the mining industry, particularly with experience in Lead, Zinc, or Lithium companies. The role involves overseeing the sourcing of raw materials, building relationships with traders and miners, and managing the logistics of transporting materials to their factory. The primary operational area is the Southwest, with occasional travel to the North.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with traders and mines, particularly in the Southwest (Oyo, Kwara, etc.), to ensure a consistent and reliable supply of raw materials, with a focus on Lead, Zinc, or Lithium.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with traders, facilitating smooth transactions and ensuring timely delivery of materials to the factory.
- Engage with miners in business development and sales activities, promoting partnerships and agreements that align with the company's goals.
- Oversee the logistics of transporting raw materials from various locations to the factory, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and market conditions to make informed decisions regarding sourcing and procurement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in the mining and trading industry
- Be willing to travel to different locations, including the North, as needed for business operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 4 years proven experience as an operations Supervisor, preferably in the mining industry, with a focus on Lead, Zinc, or Lithium
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, or a related field. Additional certifications in mining or relevant areas will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with traders and miners.
- Willingness to travel, especially to the North, and adaptability to changing business environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and other departments within the organization.
