About the role



  • BURN is looking for an MRV Team Leader who will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the data collected.

  • This position involves monitoring data quality on dashboards and ODK (Kobo), overseeing enumerator route plans for representative sampling, conducting on-the-ground monitoring, and supporting enumerator mobilization and training.

  • The Team Leader will also be responsible for data cleaning, general administration tasks, and collaborating closely with the Field Survey Coordinator and Project Manager.


Duties and Responsibilities


Data QA/QC:  



  • Monitoring the data on the dashboard(s) and on ODK (Kobo) to ensure it meets the desired quantity and quality. 

  • Monitor Enumerators’ route plan to ensure its representative sampling at the ward level. This shall be done by randomly selecting enumerators for on-the-ground monitoring within any active LGA. 

  • Contact data enumerators with defective data and cause corrections of defective data. 

  • Assist in troubleshooting issues arising from the field. 


Enumerators Mobilization and Training: 



  • Support the FS Coordinator with the screening of potential Enumerators to ensure the right profile candidates are recruited. 

  • From time to time, support the FS Coordinator with the dissemination of training to new Enumerators. 


Assist in data cleaning where necessary. 



  • Review all survey responses and weed out any unusable surveys. 


General Administration:  



  • Assist with the preparation of Enumerator payrolls, as well as confirm that enumerators have met the desired data quantities. 

  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the FS Coordinator or FS Project Manager. 




Skills and Experienc



  • A diploma in a relevant field such as statistics, data science, social sciences, or a related discipline is preferred.

  • Prior experience in data quality assurance and control, preferably in a field related to social research, surveys, or data collection projects.

  • Experience in working with data collection tools like ODK (Kobo) and familiarity with dashboard monitoring.

  • Proficient in using data analysis tools and software.

  • Familiarity with data cleaning techniques and tools.

  • Knowledge of GIS tools for monitoring route plans and sampling at the ward level.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with enumerators and address any issues related to defective data.

  • Ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
