In this Electrical Engineer role, you will create, install, maintain and provide electrical/electronic troubleshooting on all styles of PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, motors pneumatic controls, and power supplies, and repair different electrical equipment.
A critical element in this role is being conversant with electrical /electronic daily routine jobs in the factory such as Automation Hardware Repairs, Design and Maintenance.
Responsibilities
Executes preventive maintenance, calibration and work orders according to plans
Troubleshoot process equipment, and automation issues that may arise at the manufacturing line
Provides inputs into preventive maintenance and calibration maintenance on production machinery
Supports Improvement projects
Monitors and coordinates with external contractors to engage in preventive/ corrective action activities, calibration executions and other related works.
Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures
Performs duties consistent with hazardous waste and material handling procedures and practices.
Conduct maintenance / Fault finding / Repairs/installation to the production plant, services and equipment, and testing of site safety systems.
Running checks on electrical motors, Contactors, solenoid valves and breakers.
Ability to diagnose common electrical faults on factory electrical equipment
Ability to fix basic/common faults on factory electrical equipment.
Ability to put on and off diesel/gas generators.
Must be observant in monitoring the factory equipment and reporting accordingly.
Ability to interact positively with other departments in the factory to achieve a common goal.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with at least 4 years of experience in the Manufacturing industry. Preferably in the Paper Mill Industry.
Track record and competence in handling automation projects.
Experience in preventative/predictive maintenance methodologies and processes
Experience working with a CMMS system and knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C++, Python) for automation and control systems may be an added advantage.
Strong technical skills in electrical design, analysis, and troubleshooting are essential. Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software is required.
