Summary



  • Oversee the requisition of goods and services for the company. Receive purchase requisitions from employees or departments and contact possible vendors that can supply the items.

  • Compare the price quotations of these vendors and choose the most cost-efficient option.

  • Upon choosing, procurement buyers notify the vendor and proceed with the request.

  • Responsible for the receipt of goods from the suppliers and check the deliveries to ensure that all orders are complete and in good condition.


Core Roles and Responsibilities



  • Research, select and purchase quality products and materials

  • Build relationship with suppliers and negotiate with them for best pricing.

  • Process requisition and update management on status of orders

  • Create and manage vendor inventory and periodically update the vendor list

  • Analyze market trends and apply best practice in making insightful buying decision

  • Coordinate with inventory team, management and stock control of the warehouse

  • Sourcing on materials from the original source to avoid middlemen transactions.

  • Create a transparent procurement system for the organization.


QMS, EMS & QH & SMS Responsibilities:



  • Operate in conformance with the requirements of the QMS, EMS and OHS.

  • Stop work in progress to make appropriate notifications when unsafe conditions exist or requirements are not being met.

  • Proactive in ensuring the accomplishment of organizational goals along with self-development.

  • Willing to take up additional roles and responsibilities as and when required.

  • Awareness, understanding and application of QMS, EMS and OHS policies on assigned jobs

  • Awareness, understanding and application departmental /process EMS and OHS objectives.

  • Awareness on all possible hazards from assigned tasks and risk associated with assigned task and it identification and relevant controls required.

  • Ensure that personnel comply with applicable laws, regulations, specifications, standards and documented procedures.

  • Awareness of your contribution to the effectiveness of the EMS and OHS, including the benefits of improved performance and associated opportunities for improvement of processes assigned

  • Awareness of the implications of not conforming with SECRL EMS and OHS requirements including associated aspects and risks for the process assigned.


Qualifications



  • B.Sc in Business / Commercial field

  • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification

  • Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within a construction and drilling environment

  • Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding

  • and cost breakdown

  • Experience of working closely with suppliers


Preferred Skills:



  • Able to add value, reduce costs and input to business improvements

  • An understanding of construction and drilling processes and components would be an added advantage

  • Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills / abilities.


Requirements:



  • Gender: Does not matter

  • Age: 25 Years 55 Years

  • Highest Education: Minimum Education University

  • Degree title: B.Sc in Business / commercial field

  • Experience: Minimum Experience 5 Year

  • Other experience: Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within a construction and drilling environment.

  • Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager).
