Job Summary



  • We are hiring a clinical psychologist to provide patient care and administrative leadership.

  • The goal of this role is to support an integrated health service that addresses common behavioral health concerns in the primary care setting to patients across the country.

  • The person in this role will work with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors and contract clinical psychologists to ensure the mental health services provided by the organization is evidence-based and aligns with global gold standards of care.


Job Description

Role responsibilities include but not limited:



  • Provide psychological assessment for mental health concerns prevalent in the primary care setting

  • Diagnose and develop treatment plans for psychological, emotional or behavioural disorders

  • Recruit and oversee quality of contract clinical psychologist staff

  • Provide therapeutic counselling to individuals, couples and families

  • Implement policies and processes to ensure the adoption of bio psychosocial treatment plans

  • Integrate appropriate screening and assessment tools into the provision of routine primary care services at the clinic.

  • Provide training for administrative, pharmaceutical, medical officers and nursing staff on psychological first aid and triage

  • Provide high quality mental health education for patients, organizations and lay public

  • Build adequate and comprehensive processes for escalating and referring patients requiring higher level of care.

  • Utilize electronic medical record system for proper documentation of progress notes and treatment plans

  • Work with product and technology teams to build technological solutions to problems faced by patients.


Job Experience



  • Minimum of a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology

  • Meet all necessary licensure requirements to operate as a Clinical Psychologist in Nigeria including a full membership and legal state license from NACP

  • 3+ years of clinical experience working directly with clients (ideally in a clinical/primary care setting)

  • Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Office tools including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Up to date knowledge of evidence-based practices, treatments, protocols, and licensure requirements within the field

  • Ability to provide patient counselling for low-mental health literacy communication (advising in multiple relevant languages is a plus)

  • Computer literacy and ability to navigate products built for mobile, tablets and laptop devices

  • Analytical, effective communicator, solution-oriented, strategic thinker and innovative

  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment with a start-up mentality

  • Ability to effectively manage time to deliver on long term projects

  • Friendly, enthusiastic, relationship builder and collaborator with excellent interpersonal communication and active listening skills

  • Keen attention to detail.
