Duties and Responsibilities

• Washing utensils, pots, pans, and chopping boards


• Sanitising the food preparation areas


• Preparing ingredients, including washing and chopping


• Sweeping, mopping, and emptying rubbish bins


• Organising food supplies and ingredients


• Assisting the chef and taking directions.

Skills and Requirements

• Candidates should possess an SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification.


• Must be a Male.


• Sound knowledge of food safety regulations


• Physically fit and able to stand for entire shifts


• Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team


• Ordering food supplies/monitoring stock levels


• Cleaning and using kitchen equipment and kitchen utensils such as meat slicers


• Responding to requests from the dining room


• Food preparation/preparing raw ingredients/cutting meat


• Following safety standards/health and safety regulations


• Cleaning kitchen floors and kitchen walls


• Following the instruction of other kitchen staff


• Monitoring cooking times


• Using special knives


• Lifting heavy objects such as tables


• Ensuring the kitchen area is clean and tidy.
